Why Weligama is a great city for coliving

Weligama feels like a friendly surf town where mornings smell of coconut and frying hoppers. The vibe is slow and sunny. Locals sip tea, fishermen mend nets, and small shops play reggae. The climate is warm and humid with quick afternoon rain now and then. Most travellers enjoy the surf. I loved taking cheap lessons and then joining a sunset beach volleyball game with backpackers and a local family. For some, this will be amazing. There are cozy cafes and guesthouses with decent wifi. I found a rooftop spot that uploaded big files fast. Still, internet can be patchy after a storm. Argubly not the best place if you need a full office setup every day, but fine for flexible work. Cost of living is low compared with big cities. Fresh seafood, tuk tuk rides and long stays are cheap. Things to do: surf, yoga, day trips to Galle, whale watching in nearby Mirissa, and small market discoveries. A growing nomad crowd meets up in the evenings. It feels easy to stay a week and end up staying longer.
