Austria feels calm and sharp. Cities are clean. People like coffee houses, music and the mountains. Winters get snowy and cold. Summers are warm and perfect for lakes. Most travellers enjoy the mix of cozy cafes and wild trails.
For a nomad this is handy. Internet is fast and steady in cities. Coworking spots are common in Vienna, Graz and Innsbruck. I once joined a meetup at a sunny rooftop market and ended up on a weekend hike with new friends. Little moments like that happen a lot.
Cost of living is mid to high. Not the cheapest in Europe. For some this will be amazing because safety and comfort matter more than bargains. Things to do are endless. Hike, ski, swim in clear lakes, visit museums, or sit in a cafe and write.
There is a real community. Nomad groups meet up. Arguably not the best for year-round beaches. But if you like mountains, coffee and good wifi, Austria is worth trying.
