I loved staying in Saint Pierre. It feels alive but calm. Streets smell of spice and rum. Creole food is everywhere. The sun is hot and the trade winds cool you off. Rain comes in quick bursts. Most travellers enjoy the small cafes with Wi Fi and the market where locals gossip. Internet in town is usually reliable. You can find a few coworking spots and steady cafes to work from. For some, the cost will be amazing. It is cheaper than Paris but not as cheap as parts of Asia. Things to do are wild. Hikes into volcanic craters, surf sessions at nearby breaks, and night walks with locals. I once joined a sunset beach volley game and ended up chatting with a surfer for hours. There is a small digital nomad mix. Friendly French speakers and adventurous locals. Arguably not the best place if you need nonstop nightlife. But for work, nature, and good food it hits the sweet spot.
