Medellín feels alive. Warm people. Colorful streets. I fell for its "eternal spring" weather. Not too hot. Not too cold. Most travellers enjoy the friendly paisa vibe and the art in Comuna 13. For some, the nightlife in Parque Lleras will be amazing.
Nomad life here is easy. Rent and food cost much less than in big Western cities, though you can spend more if you want. Internet is usually fast in apartments, cafes, and coworking spaces. I liked working from a sunny cafe and then joining a rooftop coworking that turned into an impromptu salsa lesson.
There is a real community. Meetups, digital nomads, and local entrepreneurs hang out together. Things to do are never scarce. Hike the hills, ride the cable car, day trip to Guatape, try street food, learn salsa.
Arguably not perfect for everyone. Traffic can be messy. But if you want vibrant city life with nature close by, Medellín is hard to beat.
