I fell for Latvia. Riga is small and artsy. You walk past art nouveau buildings and find tiny cafes. The culture feels quiet and honest. People love folk songs and summer festivals. The vibe is calm but creative. Winters are cold and dark. Summers are short and lovely. For sun lovers this may not be enough.
Cost wise Latvia is cheaper than big Western cities. Riga costs more than small towns. Internet is fast and reliable. I found many coworking spaces and cafes with solid wifi. Most travellers enjoy the Central Market in old zeppelin hangars. I read online that locals play beach volleyball in Jurmala all summer. There are forests and castles in Sigulda and a surprising cafe scene. The nomad community is small but friendly. You can join meetups and swap tips. For some this will be perfect. For others the slow pace feels small. I liked it.
