Girona feels like a small city that thinks big. Stone streets, a river with colorful houses, and a tight old town that begs to be explored. The vibe is calm but lively. Summers are warm. Winters can be cool. Spring and fall are lovely.
Most travellers enjoy the lower cost of living compared to Barcelona. For a nomad that means nicer apartments and more coffee for your money. Internet is solid. Many apartments have fiber and cafés keep good Wi Fi. There are several coworking spots and a handful of regular meetups. The nomad scene is small but friendly.
Things to do are endless. Walk the cathedral steps. Bike the countryside. Day trip to Costa Brava beaches where I read people play beach volleyball at sunset. Visit the food market and try local tapas. For some, this will be amazing. For party lovers, it is arguably not the wildest place. I liked it because work and life blend easily here.
