I lived in Dubai for a few months and loved how fast everything moves. The city is shiny and modern, but you can still find old souks and strong Arabic coffee. Summers are really hot. Winters are perfect for outdoor work and beach days. Most travellers enjoy the super fast internet. I worked from coworking rooftops and coffee shops without issues. The nomad scene is big. There are meetups, Slack groups, and rooftop parties after work. I even jumped into a pickup beach volleyball game at JBR one evening. For some, the cost will feel high. You can save money with shared flats and eating at local cafés. Things to do are endless. Desert trips, rooftop bars, malls, art walks, bike paths by the marina. Public transport is clean and taxis are easy. Arguably not the best place if you want quiet rural life. But if you like bright lights, strong wifi, and meeting other travellers, Dubai is a solid spot.
