Colombo is loud, warm, and oddly friendly. The city mixes island life with colonial streets. You get busy markets, shiny malls, old temples and a sea breeze that keeps you from melting. It is tropical so expect heat and sudden rain. Monsoon months can be wet. Most travellers enjoy the cheap good food. Street food and tiny cafes make meals easy on the wallet.
