Co.SM.O is an association that represents the Coordination of Organized Music Schools in the Lazio region. The association aims to advocate for the institutional recognition of music schools and to create a Regional Registry of Music Schools in Lazio. Co.SM.O also seeks to establish a network among music schools to collaborate with other cultural and music-related entities to enhance opportunities within the sector. The initiative of Co.SM.O began in September 2020 and has garnered the support of over 50 music schools in Lazio, along with national entities. The association's main objectives include obtaining regional recognition for music schools, representing them at institutional levels, and fostering collaboration among music schools to overcome sector fragmentation. Co.SM.O aims to promote and support initiatives for institutional recognition, represent member schools, and facilitate discussions to enhance the music education sector. Furthermore, Co.SM.O aims to organize events, engage in discussions with relevant institutions and professionals, and promote new teaching methodologies through seminars, conferences, and musical events. Additionally, the association advocates for public funding to support music schools in organizing musical events and activities. The Consiglio Direttivo (Board of Directors) of Co.SM.O is composed of Alberto Fiorelli as President, Pietro Paolo Levato as Vice-President, Emanuela Petitti, Emiliano Toldo, and Alfonso Lombardi as members.
