Cord'O Cohousing offers a unique living concept with a strong emphasis on solidarity among its residents. The target demographic includes socially engaged individuals as well as those who are socially vulnerable, fostering a diverse community in terms of age and social backgrounds. The goal is to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can feel at home. Sustainability is a key focus at Cord'O, with the aim of creating six modern and sustainable living units using eco-friendly materials, incorporating necessary comforts while preserving the historical and architectural value of the property. The renovation includes features such as solar panels for electricity and a large ecological garden. The sense of community and belonging is central to Cord'O's ethos. The cohousing concept prioritizes fostering connections among residents, with shared spaces like a large kitchen, garden, and a communal meeting area known as the Cord'O Cube. Each resident at Cord'O has a unique profile, ranging from a creative young woman to a logistics event planner, promoting diversity and enriching communal living. Additionally, Cord'O emphasizes ten core principles, including the belief in the strength of unity, the activation of individual talents, energy conservation, privacy rights, and the promotion of positive communication and neighborhood integration. Cord'O, situated in a renovated historical "Villa Louise" from the 1900s, offers six individual living units equipped with bathrooms, kitchens, and living/sleeping areas crafted from sustainable materials. The ground floor features communal spaces such as an extra kitchen, dining room, and a garden with a terrace, serving as meeting points for residents. The property also boasts a beautifully landscaped large garden and the Cord'O Cube, which serves as a multifunctional space and coworking area powered by solar panels, utilized by residents and the local community. The renovation project was carried out in collaboration with MORGEN architecture, Cercis renovation specialists, and Eventus joinery, concluding in November 2020. Photos documenting the renovation progress are available for viewing, showcasing the transformation of the space.
