Cloud is a multifunctional space in Amsterdam combining a gallery, cafe, and store that showcases works by various artists, makers, and brands. The cafe offers fair trade specialty coffee, ceremonial grade matcha drinks, and homemade pastries in a serene atmosphere meant to nurture both the body and the soul. It serves as an oasis in the bustling heart of Amsterdam, fostering inspiration, education, and collaboration through art and community energy.
One of the upcoming events at Cloud is the "Lines, Bumps & Curves" exhibition by Miguel Luis Calayan, running from July 23 to August 4, coinciding with Amsterdam Pride Week. This exhibit delves into the exploration of different anatomies and how they embody identity, focusing on the meanings assigned to body markings and contours. It delves into the narratives conveyed through scars, muscles, tattoos, and how bodily features influence one's gender perception. The exhibition aims to empower individuals to control the stories they embody and declare their identities through their bodies as maps filled with bumps, curves, and lines. The opening event for this exhibition is scheduled for July 25 from 6 - 9 pm.
Moreover, Cloud hosts a series of events, including workshops and exhibitions like the "Imprinted Notes" closing event by Studio Bea on August 16, a daifuku mochi making workshop for a taste of Japanese culture on September 8, and a repeat of the workshop on October 13. These events offer immersive experiences, blending craftsmanship, culture, and creativity in a unique setting. Guests are invited to participate in these workshops and events to explore diverse art forms and cultural practices.
