Top reasons to colive in Coimbra

Coimbra feels like a tiny city with a big heart. Old stone streets. A famous university that still sings fado at night. I loved sipping coffee on a hill and watching students hurry by. The vibe is calm but lively. Summers are warm. Winters bring rain and cozy cafes. For digital nomads it works well. Living costs are lower than Lisbon or Porto, so rent and food feel kind to your wallet. Internet is solid. Cafes and coworking spaces have good Wi Fi and fast uploads. Most travellers enjoy the small meetups and study-room energy. There are parks by the Mondego river for work breaks. Day trips to nearby beaches and to the Lousã mountains are easy. I once joined a sunset beach volleyball game in Figueira da Foz after a morning of work. For some this will be amazing. Arguably not the best if you want nonstop clubbing. But if you want culture, calm, and a friendly scene for remote work, Coimbra is worth a stay.
