Top reasons to colive in Gothenburg
Gothenburg feels like a friendly city by the sea. The vibe is relaxed and a bit hip. Old wooden streets in Haga meet modern cafes. Most travellers enjoy the fish market and the lively Avenyn. Summers are mild and nice. Winters can be grey and wet. For some, that will be a downside. I once opened my laptop in a Haga cafe and a barista asked about my work. Small talk turned into tips for great ferry trips.
For digital nomads the basics work well. Internet is fast and steady. There are cosy cafes with sockets and a handful of good coworking spots. Cost of living is easier on the wallet than Stockholm but not cheap. Things to do are great. Short ferries take you to islands. Liseberg has concerts and a fun park. I even found a pick up beach volleyball game at Saltholmen.
The community is quiet but friendly. Students and tech folks make meetups. Arguably not the sunniest place. But it grows on you.
