Cali feels alive. It is loud and warm. People dance on the streets. Most travellers enjoy the salsa vibe here. I remember walking into a tiny club and stepping on feet while a stranger taught me a basic step. We all laughed.
The weather is hot and humid. Rain comes at times, but sun shows up a lot. Culture is music, food and quick smiles. Food stalls and fresh fruit are everywhere. For some, that will be amazing. Arguably not the best if you want quiet winters.
Nomad life works here. Rent and food are cheap by Western standards. Cafes have good Wi Fi and there are solid coworking spaces. Internet is usually fast but can be patchy during storms. Things to do are endless. Salsa schools, hikes to Cristo Rey, night markets, and weekend trips to the Pacific. Community is friendly. You will find fellow nomads in parks and coworking spots. It feels like a city that keeps you moving.
