Why Cabarete should be your next coliving destination
I loved Cabarete. It feels alive and easy. Warm trade winds blow most days. That makes the beaches loud with kites and sails. The town is small and friendly. You will hear Spanish and English in the same sentence. Food is simple. Fresh fish, street snacks, little vegan spots.
Most travellers enjoy the water sports. I read online about beach volleyball and jumped into a sunset game with locals. True story. There are small coworking spots and cafes with reliable internet for calls. Expect the occasional outage.
Cost of living is affordable compared with big cities. You can rent a nice room and eat out without breaking the bank. Things to do are endless. Kitesurf, surf at nearby breaks, hike in green hills, or tour waterfalls. The nomad crowd is real. You meet people at yoga, at the beach, at impromptu barbecues. For some, the nightlife is perfect. For others, it might feel a bit busy. I liked that.
