Abu Dhabi feels calm and a little grown up. The city is clean and modern but you still find quiet neighborhoods and a real local rhythm. The weather is hot for much of the year. Winters are lovely. Summers are very hot. Most travellers enjoy the Corniche for jogging and the calm sea. I read online about a pickup beach volleyball game there and joined once. It was fun.
For digital nomads this city has fast, steady internet and good coworking spots. Not as cheap as other places. Rent will eat your budget. For some this will be amazing because safety and quality are high. There are museums, good beaches, desert escapes and Yas for a weekend of rides and races. The nomad crowd is smaller than in other gulf cities but tight. Meetups happen at cafes and hubs like Hub71. Arguably not the best for wild nightlife. But if you like calm days, fast Wi Fi and easy travel, Abu Dhabi could work very well.
