Aarhus feels like a small city with big energy. Cool cafes, a creative arts scene, and a waterfront that people use all year. The weather is mild but can be windy and grey. For sun lovers this is arguably not the best. Most travellers enjoy the cozy Danish vibe and the sense of hygge in the old streets.
Cost of living is lower than Copenhagen but still a bit pricey compared to many places. Internet is fast and steady. I worked from Dokk1 library and from a tiny cafe in the Latin Quarter. There are good coworking spots and a friendly expat scene. Things to do are many. Walk to ARoS museum. Bike to Marselisborg forest. Swim or play beach volleyball at Den Permanente in summer.
Community is real. Students and artists mix with digital nomads. For some, this will be amazing because it feels safe, small, and full of people who want to meet you.
