Yerevan surprised me. The city feels alive. Pink stone buildings glow in sun. You can see Mount Ararat on clear days. The vibe is loud cafes, small parks and people who love to chat. Summers are dry and sunny. Winters can be cold and snowy.
Most travellers enjoy the cafe life. Internet is solid. I worked from coffee shops and a few friendly coworking spaces. Wi Fi and sockets are easy to find. Cost of living is low compared to Western cities. You can eat well and still save money.
Things to do are simple but good. Walk the Cascade steps. Hunt for vinyl at a market. Day trips to Garni, Geghard and Lake Sevan are quick and worth it. The digital nomad scene is small but growing. I met a web designer from Spain at a rooftop cafe and we swapped tips. For some, the slow pace will be amazing. For others, it may feel too quiet. I liked it.
