Valletta feels small but loud. Narrow streets. Big baroque churches. Sun on limestone. Summers get hot and dry. Winters stay mild. I loved sitting on a cafe terrace and watching ferries cross the harbor.
Most travellers enjoy the slow vibe. There are many cafes with steady Wi Fi. Fast enough for calls. A few coworking spots are within a short walk. For some, the city will feel a bit touristy. For me that meant there were always people to talk to. English is everywhere. That helps.
Cost of living is middle ground. Cheaper than London. Pricier than parts of Eastern Europe. You can find cheap eats and also splurge on seafood. Things to do are easy to hit between work sessions. Museums, boat trips to the Three Cities, cliff swims nearby, and lively evenings in St Julian's. I once worked on a rooftop and ended up joining a local festa across the square. Good community. Friendly faces. Worth a try if you want sun, culture, and steady internet.
