Why choose Santiago for your next coliving experience
Santiago feels alive. Lots of street art, small plazas and a mountain range that frames the city. The vibe is laid back and a bit gritty. Summers are sunny and dry. Winters can be cool and hazy. Most travellers enjoy the mix of city life and easy nature escapes.
For a nomad this is sweet. Internet is fast and steady. Cafes and coworking spots are everywhere. I once set up my laptop in Lastarria and a guitarist started playing on the roof. We all paused and then a few of us swapped tips about the best coworking spots. Cost of living is moderate. Not dirt cheap but cheaper than many big Western cities. You can live well on a middle budget.
There is a real community. Meetups, expat groups and friendly locals who love to talk food and soccer. Things to do are endless. Hike in the Andes, sip wine in Maipo, explore Valparaíso nearby. Arguably not the best if you need beaches on your doorstep. But for city plus mountains it is hard to beat.
