San Diego feels like summer most of the year. Sun, surf, palm trees and a chill pace. The culture mixes laid back surfer vibes with craft beer bars and a strong foodie scene. Most travellers enjoy the taco stands in Barrio Logan and the craft coffee spots in North Park.
For digital nomads it mostly works. The internet is fast and stable. Cafes have good wifi and coworking spaces are easy to find in Downtown and Hillcrest. The cost of living is higher than many nomad hubs. For some, that will be a deal breaker. For others, sharing an apartment or staying longer makes it doable.
There is a real community here. Weekly meetups, Slack groups and rooftop mixers happen often. Things to do after work are endless. Surf at dawn. Hike Torrey Pines. Hit a brewery at sunset. I once read about the beach volleyball pick-up at Mission Beach and ended up joining a game after work. It felt like home.
