Lyon feels like a friend who knows good food and quiet corners. Old stone streets, hidden traboules, and two rivers give it a warm, lived-in vibe. Summers can be hot and sunny. Winters are cool and a bit gray. Most travellers enjoy the slow cafe mornings here.
For digital nomads it hits many sweet spots. It is cheaper than Paris but not cheap. Internet is solid. I worked from cafes with fast Wi Fi and from friendly coworking spaces that host meetups. There is a real community. I once joined an evening coworking session on a rooftop and left with three new contacts and plans for a weekend wine trip.
Things to do are endless. Food markets, museums, bicycle paths along the Rhône, and small concerts. For some, the lack of beaches will be a downside. For others, the city life and great food make Lyon amazing. It feels easy to live in.
