Košice feels real. Old stone streets, a big Gothic cathedral and lots of small cafes that stay busy. The vibe is slow and lively at once. Summers are warm and sunny. Winters get snowy and cozy. Most travellers enjoy the mix of culture and student energy. For nomads this is handy.
Costs are easy on the wallet. Not dirt cheap, but cheaper than big Western cities. Internet is solid. I found plenty of cafes with fast wifi and a couple of coworking spots with friendly people. There is a small expat and digital crowd. You can join meetups or grab a table next to students and start a chat.
Things to do are simple and fun. Walk the main square. Visit art galleries. Day trips to nearby hills feel doable. I once spent a night in a cellar bar where a saxophone made everything feel cinematic. For some, the slow pace will be amazing. For others, it may feel a bit quiet. Both are okay.
