I love Athens. It feels messy and alive. Old stones sit next to street art. The sun is strong in summer. Winters are mild. Most travellers enjoy the mix of history and a real city life.
For digital nomads it works well. Rent is cheaper than many Western cities though central areas can be pricey. Internet is solid. I had fast fiber in my apartment and reliable wifi in cafés and coworking spaces. There are plenty of coworking spots and meetups. I once read online about a beach volley game at Alimos beach and went. Ended up chatting with a remote designer while the sun set. Small moments like that happen a lot.
Things to do are endless. Museum mornings, tavernas at night, weekend trips to nearby islands. The food scene is great and locals are warm. For some, the traffic and heat will be a bother. But if you like culture, good food, steady wifi and a lively nomad crowd, Athens is worth a try.
