Geneva feels tidy and calm. The lake steals the show. I loved wandering the quays at sunset. It is very international. Many languages, lots of diplomats and tech people. Summers are warm and sweet. Winters bring snow and cosy cafes.
For a digital nomad this city ticks big boxes. Internet is fast and steady. Coworking spaces and quiet cafes are easy to find. Public transport is great so you can work from a different neighborhood each day. It is on the pricey side though. For some, that trade off is worth the safety and quality.
There is always something to do. Run along the lake, take a ferry, visit museums, or hop up to the Alps for a day. I sat at Bains des Pâquis and later read about weekend beach volley games nearby. Most travellers enjoy the friendly expat meetups and language exchanges. Arguably not the best for wild nights. But if you want calm, good wifi and outdoor life, Geneva will surprise you.
