Why Essaouira is perfect for coliving
I fell for Essaouira fast. Tiny medina. Blue shutters. Salt in the air. The town moves slow. Windy afternoons that make the sea wild. For some the wind is perfect for kitesurfing and windsurfing. I watched people set up kites and then join a beach volleyball game at dawn. Most travellers enjoy that easy vibe.
Cost of living feels low compared to big cities. Cheap seafood at the port. A mix of small guesthouses and apartments. Internet is okay. Cafes and a few small coworking spots have Wi Fi. Mobile 4G works well but can be patchy sometimes.
Things to do are simple and rich. Walk the ramparts at sunset. Listen to Gnawa music. Browse art shops. Rent a board. Meet other nomads in cafés or shared houses. Arguably not the best place if you need a big tech scene. But if you want slow days, ocean air, and a friendly community, Essaouira is a sweet spot.
