Urbana New Living is a collaborative and sustainable living project located in Milan, focused on fostering an inclusive community environment. The development features a central square and shared spaces designed to enhance neighborhood interactions and integration with the surrounding area. Central to the initiative is the emphasis on residents, who are encouraged to engage in an open and collaborative neighborhood model, supported by social management. The project also integrates commercial activities and third-sector entities, aiming to bridge the needs of residents with local resources. The development includes innovative spaces such as Ciclocaffè, a café-laboratory, and Spazio47, a youth aggregation area promoting peer education. It is strategically situated near the Crescenzago metro station and benefits from nearby urban regeneration projects, like Welcome, designed by architect Kengo Kuma, and Green Between, part of the Reinventing Cities initiative, which aims to create a green access point to the Lambro Park. Urbana New Living offers a total of 137 energy-efficient apartments categorized in various sizes, all within Class A energy standards. This design minimizes waste and operating costs through the use of high-performance systems. Apartments are available for rent under a subsidized housing program aimed at individuals who meet specific eligibility criteria. The architecture incorporates flexible layouts to cater to diverse living arrangements, from small to large two-room apartments. Community life thrives through the WeMi Rizzoli hub, which offers various social services, cultural activities, and educational programs to promote awareness and engage residents of all ages. The development is designed to embody sustainable urban living, featuring green spaces, fitness areas, bicycle stations, and pedestrian pathways that connect the neighborhood to the surrounding city and parks. The energy systems utilized in Urbana New Living further emphasize environmental responsibility, leveraging geothermal energy for efficient heating and cooling without relying on fossil fuels.
