Details
De Koer is a vibrant creative and gathering space located in the heart of the Brugse Poort in Ghent. It serves as a tangible area within the city for social and artistic projects and initiatives. The Koer is temporarily closed from July 1st to August 11th, but starting in August, it will resume activities with two weeks of Bouwzomer, open-air cinema in Kokerpark, a large flea market in the Brugse Poort, and Terras Mundial.
During the period from August 22nd to September 13th, Ciné Rio will host outdoor film screenings in Kokerpark, offering a refreshing summer experience. Several organizations from the Brugse Poort will select their favorite films for the community to enjoy. Admission is free for these screenings.
On August 24th, a large flea market will take place in the streets of the Brugse Poort, while Terras Mundial at De Koer will provide local refreshments, a record market, live performances, silent disco, and an open-air musical film. Participants are encouraged to explore Sparrestraat, Meibloemstraat, and Kastanjestraat during the event. Those interested in participating in the flea market can sign up through the provided link.
From August 12th to 23rd, Bouwzomer will take place, offering an opportunity to continue building at De Koer. Projects include the development of outdoor spaces such as a sunny terrace, building space, and more greenery. The success of Bouwzomer relies on the support of volunteers, and those willing to contribute are invited to sign up through the provided link or contact info@dekoer.be for more information.
