Details
The recent renovation of the building located at Via Privata Siracusa in Milan, formerly known as Residence Bocconi, marks a significant development in the Porta Romana area. Initially constructed in the early 1900s in an eclectic style, the renovation has transformed the structure into a modern residential building, now called Crocetta Living. This project was overseen by Calzoni Architetti and involved a complete refurbishment of the existing façade while maintaining the first three floors of the building.
The renovation includes substantial internal reconfigurations, the removal of the third and fourth floors, and the introduction of a new upper volume encapsulated with a mirrored façade. This extension houses new residential units while enhancing natural light through redesigned openings on the southern façade. The project includes green terraces and photovoltaic panels at the top of the new structure, demonstrating a commitment to eco-friendly design principles.
The intent behind this development was not only to modernize the building but also to preserve its historical context, creating a harmonious balance between old and new architectural elements. By integrating contemporary features with the original structure, this renovation aims to enrich the urban landscape of Milan, specifically in the vibrant and evolving neighborhood of Porta Romana. As urban living trends shift towards more inclusive and sustainable developments, projects like Crocetta Living underscore the ongoing efforts in Milan to combine aesthetic value with functional residential options.
