Leipzig feels alive but not loud. Old brick buildings meet street art. Classical music hangs in the air and indie bands play in small clubs. Summers are warm and green. Winters get chilly and gray. For some, that change of seasons will be perfect. Arguably not the best place if you need constant sunshine.
I loved that I could play beach volleyball at Cospudener See at sunset and then work from a cozy cafe on Karl-Liebknecht-Straße. Most travellers enjoy the cheap eats, the beer gardens and the art galleries in Plagwitz. Rent is easier on the wallet than Berlin. You can live well without breaking the bank.
Internet is fast and steady in coworking spaces and most cafes. There are several friendly coworking spots and regular meetups. Community is a mix of students, creatives and remote workers. Things to do are many. Bike paths, markets, concerts and parks keep you busy on days off.
