I fell in love with Cebu. The city hums. Busy streets, friendly smiles, and food stalls selling lechon that smells amazing. The vibe is a mix of island chill and city speed. It is hot and humid most of the year. Rainy season brings heavy downpours but also green hills.
For digital nomads this is easy. Living costs are low compared to Europe or the US. You can find cheap rooms and good meals without breaking the bank. Internet in the city is usually fast enough for video calls. Cafes and coworking spaces in IT Park are full of people working online. Most travellers enjoy the weekend island hops. I once joined a beach volleyball game on Mactan and ended up on a snorkel trip the next day with the same group. Things to do are endless. Diving, waterfalls, hikes, and a lively nightlife. For some, the traffic and heat will be too much. But if you want community, beaches, and value, Cebu could be perfect.
