Listen, Brașov feels like a storybook town. Old cobbled streets, a big medieval square, and the Tampa mountain right above town. The vibe is chilled but alive. Winters bring snow and cozy pubs. Summers are green and perfect for hikes.
Most travellers enjoy the outdoor life here. I once joined a sunrise hike up Tampa after chatting with a stranger at the cable car station. Day trips to Bran Castle or Poiana Brașov for skiing are easy. For some, this will be amazing. For others, not if you crave beaches.
Nomads like Brașov because it is wallet friendly compared to Western Europe. Cafes have strong Wi Fi and Romania has very fast internet. There are a few cozy coworking spots and a small expat group that meets for beers and coding sessions. Things to do after work are great. Markets, craft beer bars, forests to lose yourself in. It feels safe and real.
